How do I get a QR code to finish setting up my yahoo?

To finish setting up Yahoo in Microsoft Authenticator, a QR code must be generated from the Yahoo account itself and then scanned in the Authenticator app.

For non-Microsoft accounts like Yahoo:

1. Sign in to the Yahoo account in a browser.
2. Turn on two-step verification (or similar security feature) in Yahoo’s security settings.
3. During Yahoo’s two-step verification setup, choose the option to use an authenticator app.
4. Yahoo will display a QR code on the screen.
5. On the phone, open Microsoft Authenticator, select Add account from the menu, and choose the appropriate account type (for a non-Microsoft account, follow the “Other”/non-Microsoft flow).
6. Use Microsoft Authenticator to scan the QR code shown by Yahoo.

If a QR code is not appearing, complete or restart Yahoo’s own two-step verification setup until the “use an authenticator app” option is selected, as that is what triggers the QR code display.
