Start Menu New ui

Question

hello i have a question about the new update Windows 11 25H2, why my start menu not change to the new ui, it's just default or classic windows 11 start menu.

Installed on ‎19 ‎Jan ‎2025

OS build 26200.8246

To enable the Windows 11 new Start menu, start by checking if it's available for you. Navigate to Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Optional updates, and install KB5067036 (it requires Build 26100.7019 or higher). Restart your PC, and it should appear.

If it doesn't appear, you may manually download the KB5067036 to install through Microsoft Update Catalog. Just enter the KB5067036 to Search form then choose the package right for your system.

Then download the latest ViVeTool package from its GitHub page and extract it. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and navigate to extracted location then run this command:

vivetool /enable /id:47205210

Restart your computer, and you should see the redesigned Start menu.

Upon checking the screenshot you have, you are using the Start menu from Windows 11. The newer version is released in batches, and depending on the readiness of the device, I recommend waiting for another update, as it will automatically be installed on your device once it is ready.

The redesigned Start menu in Windows 11, version 25H2 is being rolled out gradually and is not enabled on all devices immediately, even if they already run 25H2 and have the latest updates installed.

The device is already on Windows 11 Pro 25H2 with a current OS build, so there is nothing to fix or change in settings. The new Start menu experience (scrollable All section, category/grid views, updated layout, and Phone Link button) will appear automatically when it is enabled for that device as part of the staged rollout.

Until then, the existing Windows 11 Start menu layout is expected behavior.
