    Hello

You should go to your Microsoft account https://account.live.com > Devices. See if your device is listed. It will also depend on if you have enabled location service prior, If you didn't, the Find my device will not work. In addition, if the computer is not turned on and connected to internet, it will not work either.

Unfortunately, most of the time stolen computer would be wiped and clean installed, in that case, find my device will not work. I am sorry.

To see which devices are associated with a Microsoft account and use that to help with a stolen laptop:

    1. Go to the Microsoft account Devices page: https://account.microsoft.com/devices and sign in with the Microsoft account used on the laptop.
    2. After signing in, a list of devices registered to that account appears (Windows PCs, Surface devices, Xbox, etc.). This lets you confirm which devices are under that name.

If the stolen laptop is a Windows 10/11 PC that was used with that Microsoft account, it should appear automatically in this list. From there:

    1. Select the stolen device.
    2. Use Find my device (if it was turned on before the theft) to try to locate it:
      • Select the Find My Device tab.
      • Choose the device and select Find to see its last known location on a map.
    3. If the device is found on the map, select Lock to remotely lock it and help protect data.

    Notes:

    • Find My Device only works if it was enabled on the laptop beforehand and the device can connect to the internet and report its location.
    • Windows 10/11 devices are automatically added to the devices list when signed in with a Microsoft account; Surface devices can also be registered manually using the serial number.
