Lightspeed Filter Agent and similar web filters on school-managed devices are controlled entirely by the school or district IT department. They decide which sites are blocked or allowed, and only they have the permissions and passwords to change or remove the filter or to unblock specific sites.
There is no supported way in Microsoft products or Copilot to bypass, disable, or uninstall Lightspeed Filter Agent or other school security controls on a managed Chromebook or laptop. Any change must be requested from the school:
- Contact a teacher or the school IT/helpdesk and explain which specific educational sites (for example, Wikipedia pages) are needed for classwork.
- Ask if those sites can be reviewed and added to the allowed list in the web filter.
- If the filter is blocking clearly educational content, ask if there is a process to request exceptions for class projects or homework.
Unblocking or bypassing school security and filtering policies without permission is not supported and cannot be assisted.
