onenote synch issue

I created a onenote notebook on my ipad, which I can use on the web from my windows 11 pc. However, it does not appear with my other notebooks when I open onenote on my pc.

This could be a cache issue.

Hold down Win + Alt + Del keys and launch task manager, then end the OneNote app.

Then hold down Win + R keys, enter thye following and press enter.

%localappdata%\Microsoft\OneNote

This should open the folder 16.0, then delete the cache folder, or rename it to something like cache_old if you want to keep a backup.

Then restart the computer and see if it helps.

The iPad-created notebook is already in the cloud (OneDrive), since you can open it in OneNote for the web. To see it in the OneNote app on Windows 11, ensure the same account is signed in and then open it from the cloud.

Follow these steps on the Windows 11 PC:

1. Confirm internet connectivity and that the notebook opens correctly in OneNote for the web.
2. In the OneNote desktop app, verify that the same Microsoft/OneDrive account used on the iPad is signed in.
3. In OneNote for Windows, use the option to open additional notebooks from your OneDrive account (for example, via the account’s notebook list or “More Notebooks”/Open from OneDrive) and select the notebook that was created on the iPad.
4. Once opened, it will appear alongside the other notebooks in the desktop app and continue to sync.

If the notebook still does not appear, check for any sync or account-authentication errors and resolve them by opening the notebook in OneNote for the web and, if prompted, signing in again with the correct account.
