Connected two PCs via ethernet. 192.168.1.1 and .2 I enabled file sharing and network discovery on both computers. I clicked on the folder and went to advanced sharing and gave it a name. Gave Everyone Read/Write. Went to new computer and entered the IP address for .1 and get error message - 0x800004005 Unspecified error. Diagnose does not help.

    Hi,
If you make a dummy account and try to access using that credential does that help in any way? Clear out existing credentials beforehand.

    1. Press Windows key + R and type netplwiz.exe
    2. Click the add button. Follow the steps to create a local account as detailed here. You can give the name something simpler, since we would use it only to access the Network.
    3. Make the local account administrator. Use these to access Network sharing.
    4. Once it is done, the Windows 11 network sharing credentials issue is resolved.

I’m eager to hear back and work together to find a solution.
