Managing personal Outlook.com account settings, security, and privacy
Dear Jojo Everard,
- Use Microsoft Account Recovery: https://account.live.com/acsr
Fill it out carefully and with as much detail as possible, even if the email/phone has been changed
Also, make sure to use the same normal device/wifi/location/network you usually use for that account.
You should include:
Old passwords (very important)
Xbox Gamertag
Xbox console ID (if you have it)
Billing info (old purchases, card digits, PayPal)
Account creation date (approx is fine)
Devices you used (your PC, Xbox console)
Any previous emails linked to the account
- Try Xbox-specific recovery support:
https://support.xbox.com/contact-us
Choose: (Account security --> I think my account has been hacked)
Important: Check if your PC is still signed in or any other old device:
"If your Windows PC is still logged in:go to Settings --> Accounts & See if your Microsoft account is still active there"
Open (https://account.microsoft.com/security & https://account.microsoft.com/devices)
you may still be able to lock the attacker out
You can give a Password Reset a try (https://account.live.com/password/reset)
If recovery fails, Keep resubmitting it (slightly improved details each time) or Contact Xbox support directly and request escalation for “compromised account with ownership proof”.
Good Luck,
M.
