    Hi!

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

DNS records are not inside Outlook or Microsoft 365, they are inside your domain provider, such as GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudfare etc..

Check where you bought your domain, it usually have a DNS management section where you will see the needed information.

To connect Outlook email (Microsoft 365) to a custom domain on a website, DNS records must be managed at the domain’s DNS hosting provider (often the domain registrar, such as GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.). Accessing DNS records is always done through that provider, not through Outlook itself.

    Use this process:

    1. Identify where DNS is hosted
      • Sign in to the account where the domain name was purchased (for example, Namecheap, web.com, Network Solutions, Squarespace, etc.).
      • Look for a section named something like DNS, DNS Management, Advanced DNS, Zone File, or Domain Manager.
    2. Open DNS management at the provider
      • Namecheap example: go to the domain, then select Advanced DNS to access DNS record configuration.
      • web.com example: go to Domain Names → under Actions choose Manage → scroll to Advanced Tools → next to Advanced DNS Records select MANAGE.
      • Network Solutions example: go to Domain Names → select the domain → under Actions choose ManageAdvanced ToolsAdvanced DNS RecordsMANAGE.
    3. Get the exact DNS records required by Microsoft 365
      • Sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center.
      • Go to SettingsDomains.
      • Select the custom domain.
      • Choose DNS recordsManage DNS.
      • Use the wizard (How do you want to connect your domain?) and select Exchange and Exchange Online Protection (and optionally DKIM) to see the required MX, CNAME, and TXT records.
    4. Add the records at the DNS host
      • In the DNS management page at the provider, add the records shown in the Microsoft 365 admin center:
        • MX record pointing to *.mail.protection.outlook.com so email for the domain goes to Microsoft 365.
        • Optional but recommended: Autodiscover CNAME, SPF TXT record, and DKIM CNAME records, using the exact values shown in the admin center.
      • Save the changes.
    5. Complete setup in Microsoft 365
      • Return to the Microsoft 365 admin center domain page and select Continue or Verify so Microsoft 365 can confirm the DNS records.
      • When verification completes, the domain will be connected and Outlook email will work with the website’s domain.

If DNS is hosted by Microsoft 365 (nameservers like ns1.bdm.microsoftonline.com), DNS records are managed directly in the Microsoft 365 admin center under SettingsDomains → select domain → DNS recordsManage DNS.
