I received a message that I can no longer access classic teams and that I should download the most recent app. But there was no indication how to find that app.

What device are you using Teams on? Is it Windows, Mac computer or a mobile device?

What exactly is the OS version of your device?

Hi Eugene,

The error message you received is expected since classic Teams is no longer available since July 1, 2025, and has been replaced with the new Teams app:

• To download new Teams app, you can get it through the official Teams download page here Download Teams Desktop and Mobile Apps | Microsoft Teams (works for both Windows and MacOS devices)
• For mobile devices, you can download Teams from the official stores: iOS App Store (for iOS devices) and Google Play Store (for Android devices)
• If you want to use Teams in a browser, you can access Teams web app via https://teams.microsoft.com

If you're using a work/school managed device and installation fails, your organization may control the Teams installation through policies, and you may need to contact your IT department and ask for their help. If you don't know who your IT administrator is, please refer to this article: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support
