Install Excel standalone

I purchased Excel on its own in 2021 from the Microsoft store. I tried to download and re-install it but it goes to Office 365 setup. Can I install Excel on its own?

Uninstall any trial or subscription versions of Microsoft 365 currently on your computer to avoid license conflicts.

Open your browser and go to the Microsoft account services page.

https://account.microsoft.com/services

Sign in with the exact Microsoft account you used to buy Excel in 2021 > Look for Services & subscriptions or Purchased products to find Excel 2021 > Click Install next to Excel to download your specific license installer.

    I needed to also uninstall "Office 365 for Enterprise.." Working now.

    Just to be clear, Excel is the only Office product that you have?

    Note that for many purposes, setup will display "Microsoft Office" or maybe even "Microsoft 365 and Office" regardless of the specific product you have. (Microsoft terminology can be very imprecise and confusing.)

    Is there something else that indicates that you get the wrong product? For example, does it refuse to activate after the install has completed?
