Hi,
Adding your work email to Authenticator alone may not complete the setup or generate a verification code. The new phone must first be registered as an authentication method for your work account.
At the sign-in prompt, select Sign in another way and use another method that you previously set up, such as text message or phone call.
If you can sign in:
- Go to Security info.
- Select Add sign-in method > Microsoft Authenticator.
- Follow the prompts until a QR code appears.
- On the new phone, open Authenticator and select + > Work or school account > Scan a QR code.
If Sign in another way is unavailable, or every available option requires the old phone, you will need to contact your workplace IT administrator. Ask them to remove/reset the old Authenticator registration or require MFA re-registration. Depending on your organization’s configuration, they may also provide a Temporary Access Pass so you can register the new phone.
Microsoft’s guidance confirms that when no alternative verification method is available, the organization’s administrator must assist: Sign in using two-step verification or security info | Microsoft Support
Please let me know whether Sign in another way appears and what options it provides. Do not share any verification codes or account details publicly.
