When we send OME encrypted message to a recipient in other M365 tenant and this recipient is on Mac, using Outlook for Mac with his M365 account, he cant open OME encrypted message.
When recipient receives enrypted message, there is no default OME text, "You have received encrypted message from..." and so on, there is no body text at all and there is no attachment in the message. There is only a button to "Check credentials", which opens a login screen and when recipient logs in using his M365 account, he gets error message "This account is not found from the "sending tenant AD"...". This user can see these message via Outlook on the web normally.
Recipients Outlook for Mac is on latest version 16.59 and comes via M365 licensing.
Why this is not working on a Outlook for Mac?

Based on my research on OEM, I found that recipients of encrypted messages who are in organizations will be able to read those messages seamlessly in any version Outlook, including Outlook for PC, Outlook for Mac, Outlook on the web, Outlook for iOS, and Outlook for Android. And I noticed the recipient is in other M365 tenant recipient, can other users in the recipient's tenant encounter the same issue? If so, it may be related to the tenant. I'm afraid the recipients in other M365 tenant recipient need to open OME encrypted message via Outlook on the web.

I got a bit confused..

But you also wrote "recipients in other M365 tenant recipient need to open OME encrypted message via Outlook on the web".
What I have understood, if recipient is in any M365 tenant, recipient has MIcrosoft work account and should be able to read OME messages straight from any (latest) version of desktop Outlook, including Mac. I didn't know that if recipient is not in the same tenant as sender, recipient can see this message only in OWA. I haven't found any documentation about this??
Also, this recipient has told me that encrypted messages from other senders are working normally, thou, I am not sure if these other messages are OME encrypted..

I'm sorry I didn't make it clear. What I said above comes from my doubts about other 365 tenants. To further confirm the impact of the other M365 tenant, does the problem still exist when you send OME encrypted messages to the recipients of other tenants?
And if the recipient can use Outlook for Windows, it's also suggested that check if the OME encrypted message can be opened in Outlook for Window.

Hey OP, I know this thread's been dead for a cool 8 months, but did you ever find a valid solution to your problem? I'm in the same boat.
Tenant A = sender
Tenant B = receiver
All users in both tenants are licensed for Microsoft 365 Business Premium.
I am a member of Tenant A.
I am sending an OME-style encrypted message to one user in Tenant B.
Tenant B attempts to open the encrypted email in three different clients:
Client #1 = Office on the web = email opens just fine.
Client #2 = Outlook for iOS = email opens just fine.
Client #3 = Outlook for Mac, version 16.68 = The email can't be opened, because the authentication leads to the same "account is not found from the sending tenant" error message you reported.
Any further help would be extremely beneficial!

I'm having the same situation as Nathan describes for a user that doesn't want to use owa. Do you know if there is asolution that has been developed so the user can use normal Outlook for Mac?
