Upgrading to O365 ProPlus 2002

Question

We currently use O365 proPlus 1902 and as it seems end of life is nearing , we are planing to upgrade to 2002 version

How do you carry out the upgrades. I generally just approve the latest 2002 Patch in sccm and it will upgrade the software.

What about new machines , shall we crate a new package to install 2002 to begin with

how do i include Visio and project in the package.

for the upgrade of proplus, you can deploy the feature updates just like any other windows patching and that will take care of the upgrade of 1902 to 2002.
For the new devices, you can create an application (using the console or using PSADT (powershell app deployment tool kit) and deploy as part of the TS or application model.

For the new machines, you can start the Microsoft 365 Apps Installer from the Office 365 Client Management dashboard to make the initial Microsoft 365 Apps installation experience easier. The wizard lets you configure Microsoft 365 Apps installation settings, download files from Office Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), and create and deploy a script application with the content.
Starting in Configuration Manager 1806, the Office Customization Tool is integrated with the installer in the Configuration Manager console. When creating a deployment for Microsoft 365 Apps, you can dynamically configure the latest manageability settings.

After you create and deploy Microsoft 365 Apps using the installer, Configuration Manager won't manage the Microsoft 365 Apps updates by default. To enable Microsoft 365 Apps clients to receive updates from Configuration Manager, see:

The setup files for office 365 apps and visio/project are the same. all you need is to control the xml file with required components to be installed.
you can follow this guide to create xml file for the visio/project components.
