You can copy fonts to other users' computers and save them to your computer's fonts directory (usually C:\Windows\Fonts) If the response is helpful, please click "Accept Answer" and upvote it. In this case, Some of the reasons can be there You may have copied and paste it from pdf file. To make the bullet, You will have to choose bullet option from the paragraph menu. Probably the font of round bullets is not there. So you will have to install that font or to place that font file in font folder. Or Probably the user who are not able to see the bullets have older version of MS Word.

In print layout the bullets appear as round dots (what I want) but when printed they are squares.

I had same problem and agree it is a font issue. Here is how I fixed it.
Highlight the bulleted text Select the bullet menu Choose "create a new bullet" Under the pictures of the bullet choices, click on "bullet" A window will open with icons. Mine was selected "Symbol" for the font which converted dots to squares when printed. Change the font to the font you are actually using. I was using Arial.
Find the dot symbol and click on that. Click OK. Now I have dots in both the document and print preview and when printed.

yes, other users on the same PC doesn't have this problem.

No, the Document wasn't edited with Word Online.

Even when I start a new document and type "*" + Tab, word shows a Box instead of Point.

Exit Word and locate the ListGal.dat file in the your Windows user profile on the PC. To go directly to the appropriate folder, hold the Windows logo key on your keyboard as you press R; in the Run dialog box, type:

%appdata%\Microsoft\Word

and press Enter. Delete the ListGal.dat file in that folder.

Finally, restart Word.
