Unknown computers still listed as "unknown" after OSD

When imaging unknown computers with SCCM 1910, many times I find that the OSD task sequences finish but the devices are still listed in the console as "unknown". Looking at the properties of these object yields almost no information other than the MAC and the device shows (in the console) as a device named "Unknown" and no client. Since we image at multiple locations, it is difficult to find these devices. Most times, this clears up overnight but it is frustrating when they do not.

Looking in SQL in v_r_system based on the resource_id, the device has a name (Name0) of "unknown"

Is there something I can put into the task sequence to force the device to "register" itself faster?

    Hi,

Thank you for coming Microsoft MECM Q&A forum.

Based on my experience, the issue may be caused by SCCM client agent installation failure or communication failure between client agent with management points.

Please help check the following logs to see if there are any further information:
1.Check the Smsts.log to see if the client agent installed successfully.
2.Check the CcmNotificationAgent.log to see if the client agent keep alive.
3.Check the LocationServices.log to see if the client agent can communicate with management points.

    Thanks for your time.

    Best regards,
    Simon
