Feature Updates failing

We are using the SCCM CB 1909 to upgrade systems from Windows 10 1803 to 1909. We are using the Feature Update method. We have upgraded the BIOS on the target systems before the upgrade. We then push out the upgrade and it starts. It downloads the Windows 10 files. But after the first reboot the system hangs. It stays at the Dell Logo and never comes back. Doing a hard reset does nothing. We can't boot into Safe Mode. We have to create a usb bootable disk and then do a system restore.

what would cause this type of behavior?

    Hi mqh7-5596,

If possible, please help check the hide files setupact.log and setuperr.log under the path $Windows.~BT\Sources\Panther to see if there are any related clues. Besides, we could check if the feature updates would be installed manually on the client. If not, it seems that there might be something wrong with Windows, please post a ticket on the window Q&A.
