SCOM Alert

We are thinking of deploying SCOM to monitor different in-house applications.
Can we set the alert such that different hosts report the alerts to different groups i.e. application groups?
And if each application groups can customize their own alert frequency or turn off during certain periods?

Hi @ChongSunLimAP-4498,

Yes this is fully possible in SCOM, you can group the servers in the way you want, for example per application, and then configure the alerts to different groups/users as per your needs.

You can create roles in within SCOM and give your application owners certain rights so that they can use the maintenance mode feature to turn off alerts. For editing alert notifications in SCOM I believe you'll need to have SCOM administrator rights.
