Parameters

  • message
    Type: System..::.String
    The error message that explains the reason for the exception.
  • entityName
    Type: System..::.String
    The name of the entity that caused the exception.
  • inner
    Type: System..::.Exception
    The exception that is the cause of the current exception, or a nullNothingnullptra null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic) reference (Nothing in Visual Basic) if no inner exception is specified.

Remarks

If the inner parameter is not a nullNothingnullptra null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic) reference, the current exception is raised in a catch block that handles the inner exception.

The exception that is thrown when attempting to specify an invalid definition.

All catalog exceptions, including the InvalidDefinitionUseException are derived from the CatalogException class. (The InvalidCatalogOperationException is derived from the CatalogException class.) The InvalidDefinitionUseException is thrown because you are attempting to perform an invalid operation.
