The topics in this section describe how to install and set up the prerequisites for version control integration in Microsoft Dynamics AX. MorphX VCS, the out-of-the-box version control solution that is provided with Microsoft Dynamics AX, does not require that you set up prerequisite software. If you integrate version control by using Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server (TFS) or Microsoft Visual SourceSafe (VSS), you must install and set up the prerequisite software.

Prerequisites for Version Control Integration using Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server

The following table describes the requirements for the various components for a Microsoft Dynamics AX development environment that uses TFS for version control.
