Student presentations

Completed

Let's explore a little deeper into presentations as a product of a Build Challenge. Presentations can be an important part of a build submission and come in multiple forms, such as video with voice-over or captions, slide-decks, and verbal presentations. Each of these forms, however, have similar criteria when evaluated:

  • Showcasing the build - The build is a clear reflection of the ideas the student or team is attempting to convey.
  • Explanation - The student/team clearly and concisely explains their build and what each element of the build was designed to represent.
  • Justification/reasoning - The student/team justifies and explains the reasoning of how their build addresses each aspect of the prompt.
  • Evidence - The students support their reasoning with facts and evidence from prior knowledge, recent learning, and/or from research.
  • Describe learning outcomes - A valuable step to consolidating learning is to ask students what they learned; whether individually or as a group.

You can include additional criteria based on what you consider valuable. For example, you may include criteria that consider video production to have students improve their video editing skills.
