Sharing made simple in Microsoft 365

Completed

Sharing files with OneDrive makes an educator's life simpler.

There are two ways to share a file:

  • Through a specific application (like Word or PowerPoint)
  • Through OneDrive

In Word, select the Share button.

Or, in OneDrive, select the file and then the Share button beside the file's name.

The sharing method might depend on what specifically needs to be done with that particular file. Depending on the recipient, an educator might want to make the document editable by the recipient or view-only.

Sharing as view-only allows an educator to block downloads. If Can view is selected, the recipient isn't able to download or print the file.

After selecting desired options, select Apply. Now, the educator can share the file by entering a colleague’s name or copying the link to the file.

Sharing files reduces inbox clutter, ensures everyone is working from the most current version of a file, and helps with overall organization. To find shared files in OneDrive, navigate to the Shared menu on the OneDrive sidebar.
