Create and collaborate with Copilot Pages
When a Copilot conversation produces something valuable — a research summary, a draft brief, a set of ideas — Copilot Pages gives you a built-in way to capture and build on it without leaving your chat. Any Copilot response can instantly become an editable, shareable workspace right alongside your conversation, so you can keep prompting, refining, and collaborating without starting over.
Key features of Pages:
- Create & organize: Turn Copilot Chat responses into a persistent, editable page for generating and refining content.
- Enhance with Copilot: Use prompts to update content, add ideas, and get answers based on your page.
- Convert & distribute: Transform pages into Word documents or PowerPoint presentations for seamless sharing.
- Embed rich content: Add interactive charts, tables, diagrams, and code that stay in sync across Microsoft 365 when you share the page.
Important
Your experience with Microsoft Copilot may differ from what is presented in this training based on your version. See What Copilot License do I have? for reference.
How does Copilot Pages work?
Copilot Pages works alongside your Copilot Chat session. As you interact with Copilot, you can capture any response you want to keep, expand, or share by opening it as a page. The page opens side by side with your chat so you can keep prompting Copilot and building on your content without losing your work.
Create a page from a response
When you receive a response you'd like to build on, choose to open it in Pages. Copilot copies and formats the response onto a new, editable page. Alternatively, you can prompt Copilot directly — asking "Create a page about..." or "Generate a page for..." — and Copilot creates and populates the page automatically.
Tip
If the option to open in Pages doesn't appear, check with your admin to confirm your organization has Pages enabled.
Add to an existing page
You don't have to start a new page every time. As you continue a conversation, select the response you want to keep and choose Add to Copilot Page to add it to a page you've already started — useful for building up a project brief or ongoing document across multiple chats.
Edit and refine
Everything on the page is directly editable. Continue your conversation with Copilot and add new responses to the page, or type and edit content directly. Use the / key to access a menu of content types — tables, headings, checklists, code blocks, and more.
Find your pages
Your pages are saved automatically and available whenever you need them — from the Pages section in the Copilot app, the Pages tab in Microsoft 365 on the web, or the link in the chat where you first created the page. On mobile, you can view, edit, and share your pages from the Copilot app.
Note
Pages you create will be saved indefinitely unless you delete them, yourself. If you're not the owner of the page and that person leaves the organization, make a copy of any pages they created and save it in another location; otherwise, they'll be deleted after 30 days. For more information on page retention, view Overview of Loop workspaces storage and permissions.
Share and collaborate
You can share your page with others to collaborate on by @mentioning them in the page. Once @mentioned, people can further edit the page content in real-time. People you share with will have access to the page and its content, not your Copilot Chat session. If you and your team have a Microsoft 365 Copilot license, you can view the page in full screen and use Copilot directly within the page, adding to each other's prompts and collaborating on a final output.
Pages tracks every edit made by contributors. Select any text on the page to see a profile picture or initials appear next to that content. If multiple people have edited a section, you see the lead contributor's profile image followed by +N, where N is the number of additional contributors. Select the image to see contributor names and which parts of the content they changed.
Tip
If you find yourself wanting your whole team to prompt Copilot together inside a shared page—without switching back to the main chat—that's a sign you're ready to explore the full Microsoft Copilot experience, where in-page Copilot collaboration is available to everyone on your team.
You can also share a direct link to the page or embed it as an interactive component in supported Microsoft 365 apps such as Teams or Outlook — both options are available from the share controls on the page.
Convert your page for distribution
When your page content is finalized, you can export it for broader distribution outside Copilot.
- Convert to Word: In the upper-right corner of your page, select the Word icon. Copilot prepares your draft, then opens it in Word when it's ready.
- Convert to PowerPoint: Select the PowerPoint icon instead, and Copilot turns your page content into a starting slide deck you can refine further.
Both exports give you a standalone file you can share with people who don't have access to the original page.
Ideas for using Pages
Here are a few ways you might use Pages to improve your workflow:
- Project management: Organize project details, assign tasks, and track progress collaboratively.
- Content creation: Draft documents, reports, or presentations with input from your team, refining and expanding ideas together.
As you work with Pages, you'll naturally develop instincts for when AI-assisted collaboration adds the most value. Those instincts are the foundation you need before advancing to Microsoft Copilot, where Pages integrates with your work data—emails, meetings, and files—to take collaborative content creation further.
