GetKeywordCategories Service Operation - Ad Insight

Gets the keyword categories to which the specified keywords belong.

Request Elements

The GetKeywordCategoriesRequest object defines the body and header elements of the service operation request. The elements must be in the same order as shown in the Request SOAP.

Note

Unless otherwise noted below, all request elements are required.

Request Body Elements

Element Description Data Type
Keywords An array of keywords for which you want to determine the possible keyword categories that each keyword belongs to. The array can contain a maximum of 1,000 keywords, and each keyword can contain a maximum of 100 characters. string array
Language The language in which the keywords are written.

You must set this element to English.

MaxCategories The number of categories to include in the results. The maximum number of categories that you can request is 5.

The default is 5.

PublisherCountry The country code of the country/region to use as the source of the category data.

You must set this element to US.

Request Header Elements

AuthenticationToken The OAuth access token that represents the credentials of a user who has permissions to Microsoft Advertising accounts.

CustomerAccountId The identifier of the ad account that owns or is associated with the entities in the request. This header element must have the same value as the AccountId body element when both are required. This element is required for most service operations, and as a best practice you should always set it.

CustomerId The identifier of the manager account (customer) the user is accessing or operating from. A user can have access to multiple manager accounts. This element is required for most service operations, and as a best practice you should always set it.

Password This element is reserved for internal use and will be removed from a future version of the API. You must use the AuthenticationToken element to set user credentials. string

Response Elements

The GetKeywordCategoriesResponse object defines the body and header elements of the service operation response. The elements are returned in the same order as shown in the Response SOAP.

Response Body Elements

Result An array of KeywordCategoryResult data objects. Each object contains the keyword and a list of categories to which it belongs.

The list will include an item for each keyword that you specified in the request. If the keyword category cannot be determined, the KeywordCategories list will contain a single KeywordCategory. The value of Category will be Unknown Category and the value of ConfidenceScore will be 0.0.
