Tfs or DevOps Server backup file size

We used the TFS server, then upgraded this to Azure DevOps server (currently 2019 something) and it works (sometimes the access is very slow, but hey... that's an other problem). The question for today is about backup file sizes. In our backup we find

Tfs_Configuration_<many numbers>.bak -> about 2.4 GB
Tfs_DefaultCollection_<many numbers>.back -> about 900 MB

... and some other files

my question is, why the "configuration" is so much bigger than the data of the collection. Is there some crap that we collected over time and could delete? Like protocols from 2013 and stuff like that?

And... where (in the latest 2019 version) can I see the result of the backups? I had a nice list, but I don't find it anymore after I installed the latest update.

thanks for info,
Rudolf
