Hi,

Can we use rds client licenses bought , installed and used at older windows server versions at the newer windows servers?

Like the licenses we used at windows 2012 R2 , can we export and used them without problem at Windows 2019 server?

    Hi @Bora Özden ,

No, you cannot use them. It's not supported.
There is only backward compatibility so If you have 2012R2 CAL's you can use it for session host 2012 R2/ 2012 and 2008/2008R2.
If you buy 2019 RDS CAL's you will be able to use them at 2019 and below.
The image provided by @JimmySalian-2011 deacribe this very well.
