Hello Expert,

I have a restriction profile where Number of sign-in failures before wiping the work profile is set 10 .when I tried to perform it in device to confirm this working ...tried the more then 10 times wrg passcode to open the work profile or its apps but not getting confirm result.

How to validate it on end user android devices Number of sign-in failures before wiping the work profile is working ?

@Richa Kumari , From your description, I know you set a device restriction policy to set "Number of sign-in failures before wiping device" to 10. But it is not working.

Before going on, please ensure the device password is set before we apply the policy.

Meanwhile, check the device status on Intune policy to see if the policy is applied successfully.

For your question, based on my research, I didn't find the method to check the sign in failures on the device. If the policy is applied successfully, but the device still not wipe after it reach the sign in failure number. We suggest to open case to look into the detailed logs to analyze on it. @Richa Kumari , Thanks for the reply. If the policy is applied successfully. based as i know, it will wipe the work profile when the work profile passcode is entered wrong after 10 times and it will wipe the device when the device password is entered wrong 4 times.

as I can notice that default wipe for personal device is greyout even it can able to wipe ?

@Richa Kumari ,, Based on my test, it will only wipe the work profile when I enter wrong password 4 times. Not the whole device.

Thank you for all detail ...fyi I have changed only to work profile password section in profile as below the attached device password was default ,i didn't changed the device password section

Scenario: deployed the profile with above work profile change ,on device side manually disabled the allow one lock and then tried to put incorrect password in device ,is this work to wipe the work profile and how many attempts (4 or 10).

I have verified that when allow one lock is enabled then put 10 incorrect password in work profile then after some time ,the work profile get deleted .

@Richa Kumari , Thanks for the update. Based as my test, it will also delete the work profile after 10 incorrect passwords when allow one lock is disabled.
