Azure DevOps Region Move Issue

Hi,

I have three instances of Azure DevOps (previously known as VSTS). One of them is my main ALM instance, rest are test instances previously created. not much in use today.

They were all created years ago when it was still called VSTS and back when "Region" was not an option. Hence, all lie in "US East 2" region currently.

I am located in India and I wanted to move my main instance to India for convenience. So I tried the "Azure DevOps Virtual Support Agent." method as suggested in the article here. I wanted to see how the entire activity works, so I queued in a test instance. It gave me a available window of 22nd Oct (I did this on 20th Oct I think). I accepted the action and let Azure DevOps do it's thing.

However, nothing happened. I am checking the instance since then, daily. And the region still remains "US East 2" and when I use the "region move" option in the Virtual Support Agent, it still says the region move has been pended for 22nd Oct (past date?) and I can neither modify the date nor cancel the queuing request. And redirects me to MS Azure portal in case I want to open a support ticket.

Now to the main problem, when I login in the Azure portal using the same @Karima ben .com id, which is the owner of all of my three DevOps instances. I get an error

The portal is having issues getting an authentication token. The experience rendered may be degraded.

Additional information from the call to get a token:
Extension: Microsoft_Azure_Support
Resource: self
Details: The logged in user is not authorized to fetch tokens for extension 'Microsoft_Azure_Support' because the user account is not a member of tenant '<SOME-UUID>'. Error details: AADSTS50020: User account '{EmailHidden}' from identity provider 'live.com' does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access the application '<ANOTHER-UUID>'(Azure Portal) in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Sign out and sign in again with a different Azure Active Directory user account.

Correlation ID: 73bd34ed-f64e-4863-b80e-2ebdf6e335f8

Timestamp: 2022-10-27 05:25:48Z

  • This is my main & personal @Karima ben account. I haven't been a part of any AAD afaik.
  • I tried using another browser and the private browser mode and signed into azure portal (as some posts with similar error suggested), but got the same error.
  • I get the same error when I open the "Azure Active Directories" page in the Azure Portal as well.

Any suggestions?

tl;dr; Two problems

  1. "Region Move" of my test DevOps instance is stuck pended in a past date. I want to see how it works and then queue that for my main instance.
  2. Cant open support ticket on Azure Portal due to above quoted error

Any help is appreciated
