Hi,

I have a question. Having a key license for Windows 11 Pro, I am able to downgrade to Windows 10 Pro, and then upgrade to Windows 11 Pro with only this one key?

I know that in 2025 Windows 10 Pro loses support, but can I return to the old version with Windows 11 keys and update to Windows 11 when the support expires.

Thank you for your response.

    Hello there,

Yes, you can use an old product key for a Windows 11 Pro upgrade, and the activation will probably be successful.

You need to install windows 10 first, activate it with the windows 10 key you have and once windows 10 installation is completed with this key — update windows 10 to windows 11 from windows 10 settings. The upgrade from windows 10 to windows 11 is legally free. You need to have the specs required to run windows 11 though.

AFAIK, Windows 11 license don't work for Windows 10.

However, you can use Windows 10 license activated system to upgrade to Windows 11.
