microsoft has any plan to support Appium v8.x for winappdriver?

Currently WinAppdriver support appium 7.6 version and below with Selenium 3 realted command, however when we upgrade Appium v8 which is for Selenium 4.x, then WinAppDriver is not working with the code in Java to connect Windows application and capabilities are not available in Appium 8 as well.
What is the upgrade plan for WinAppDriver to suport Appium 8
