Hi, I am having the same problem. I recently had to reinstall Windows so I am reinstalling Unity and Visual Studio Community 2022. I tried to follow the troubleshooting steps above, but I don't have the listed registry key in my registry. Here is the output of the log file. I don't have any special firewall software.

Firstly, please try to run the msi file(C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\VisualStudio\Packages\Microsoft.VisualStudio.Community.Shared.Msi,version=17.5.33312.110) manually. If it installs successfully, please retry/continue installing VS. If it fails to install, please try following method:

Check if the C:\Program Files (x86)\Reference Assemblies folder exists. If it doesn’t exist, try to create a new empty folder and rename it as Reference Assemblies. If it exists, please check if something blocks you from installing the file, on your machine, like permission limitations, group policy, extensions and antivirus.

If above don’t work, please close VS/VS Installer, right-click the setup file and run it as administrator, see if the error disappears.

Do you have full permissions for example, administrator permissions on your machine?

Are you using Windows 11 or Windows 10?

If you open CMD as administrator and run DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth, then run sfc /scannow, will it work?

From the screenshot you shared above, looks like the issue is related to the permission.

Is there any limitation on your machine, like permission limitations(group policy, antivirus software)?

If you try to clean boot Windows, will the issue disappear?

Please try to wait for seconds or minutes, it may need some time to load the list.

If it fails to load or crashes, you should get corresponding error messages.

If you have waited for a very long time but it still not responding, please kindly try other troubleshooting methods.

You can focus on two aspects. One is about permission limitation(communicate with your administrator if you don’t have full permissions on your machine. Also make sure that software like antivirus doesn’t block you from installing the package), the other is about system environment(you can 1. Update Windows OS. 2. Open CMD as admin, run DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth, after that run sfc /scannow).
