Dear All,

        i'm doing a on premise vm migration to azure, and i face below issue of not getting option to enter VM Credentials in Azure Migrate appliance configuration page. Below option is grayed out. and inside azure portal, - azure migration  under "server database and web apps - there are - "Assessment tools" & "Migration tools" -, and my current azure migrate appliance are using the OVF from assessment tool, just wonder do i need migration tool as well ? any help would be appreicated

I understand that not getting option to enter VM Credentials in Azure Migrate appliance configuration page.

Use the following from documentation:
Under the replication device configuration file, as described in the following procedure.After the installation is complete, the Device Configuration Wizard will start automatically (you can also start the wizard manually by using the cspsconfigtool shortcut that is created on the device desktop).Use the Manage Accounts tab of the Add Account Details Wizard to use for the Mobility service pull installation.In this tutorial, we're going to manually install the Mobility service on the machines to replicate, so you need to create a dummy account in this step and continue.

i realized that my vcsa was deployed on vmware workstation rather than deployed on esxi server, will it the main issue caused azure migrate appliance configuration manager cant detect the vcenter ?

yes before i was deploying azure appliance on esxi itself, i will now try to deploy azure appliance ova via vcenter

i have deployed VCSA and esxi added into the VCSA, and i deploy azure appliance ova via under "datacenter" - Action, but inside the appliance configuration manager i still cant see i can "add credential" in step 2 manage crdential and discovery sources, any idea ?

IMO, you should reach out to Azure technical support for further assistance with this issue. The ticket enables you to work closely with the support engineers and get a quick resolution to your issue.

Same issue for me today, step 1 completes fine when getting to step 2 "can't press add credentials or add discovery source" option is greyed out. I have done migrations in the past and not experienced this before.

Hi Keith,

If you are deploying Azure migrate appliance for Vmware infra, then please note deploying appliance on vmware workstation won't help.

For vmware discovery and assessment, you need to deploy the appliance on vcenter and appliance should have connectivity to vcenter.
Trying to discover vmware infra using ESXi host, is not supported.
