Will updating printer driver on server cause all users to have admin prompt

it's been a long long while since I've looked at updating printer drivers, but if I ask our printer vendor to update the drivers for their canon printers on our print server - will all users receive a prompt for admin credentials? everyone prints to a central queue managed by their Uniflow print management solution.

If the users are admins on the client, then it depends if you have configured computer/Admin templates/Printers/Point and print restrictions.

Admin access is required to install the updated software from the print server onto the client system.

I don't think they will be prompted if admin. For standard users, admin prompt is expected unless you disabled the Limits print driver install to admin Group Policy.

So updates to the software on the clients require administrative privilege. That is 100% expected.
