vc_runtimeminimum_x86.msi missing+not able to uninstall VC c++ redist 2017!
I've seen a lot of other posts with similar questions, but I can't seem to find a good answer. So I'm hoping someone smarter than me knows what is going on!
The first time I encountered this problem was years ago when I first got my PC. It was originally my dad's old work computer, but he ended up just using a MacBook Pro, and the PC was collecting dust. Fast forward a few years and I got it, and I began to notice the following error message pop up at seemingly random times. (this is not the right image, it says 2022 but before I tried to fix it, it always said 2017 because that was my installed version!)
This was never a problem though, considering I could just click "Cancel" and it would stop bothering me.
I'm starting to hate my past self right now for not figuring it out, but eventually, the message stopped appearing at random times, and only when I opened certain programs. But again I would just click "Cancel", and everything would just go back to normal. So now I think I have finally found something that needs this vc_runtimeminimum.msi to work. The game "Portal with RTX" on steam refuses to start without this resolving this error. A video of it can be found here. In the video, you can also see that I can't seem to uninstall it! If you need it, here are my specs:
Computer model: MSI MS-7850
Operating system: Microsoft Windows 10 Home (10.0, Build 19045)
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz 4/8
Motherboard: MSI Z97 PC Mate(MS-7850)
RAM: 32 GB
Hard disk2: ADATA SP600 (238.5 GB/Fixed hard disk media)
Hard disk5: WDC WD10EADS-00L5B1 (931.5 GB/Fixed hard disk media)
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 (6 GB)
Monitor: AOC International (USA) Ltd. 2369 (1920x1080 / 23.1 Inch)
So I just want to know how to get it to stop giving me this message and let me play my game! (i didn't download a 26 GB DLC for no reason!)
(sorry if this was long and rambling it is my first question on the forum.)
