The smart card is physically connected to the remote (HP) machine with vmware. By assigning the smart card to a virtual machine it is visible and functioning from the vmware console. If I connect to the virtual machine in remote desktop but from the same machine the smart card is working. If I connect to the virtual machine from a different client (from home ...) with the smart card on the remote machine as a peripheral, it is displayed but not recognized and cannot be used for electronic signature. If I move the smart card to the home PC everything works again. I have not found solutions on the various forums. Are there any possibilities to solve the problem?

    Hi,
As far as I know, this issue is still not resolved at the Microsoft level. This is the access of two machines to one USB. I have not seen a standard solution, but I used this step (https://www.usb-over-ethernet.org/user-guides/smart-card-reader-over-ethernet/) a couple of times to bypass the barriers in remote access to the USB device.
maybe it will help you too. Good luck

    Hi,
the problem unfortunately remains. I have updated the drive of the smart reader, but nothing has changed. At this point I believe that the only possible solution may be a microsoft update. I had seen the paid solution but it is not free ... I will switch to remote management other than that provided by microsoft. Thanks anyway for the advice.
