Good morning,

Is it possible in Chrome to open office documents (docx) from Sharepoint library (2019 - modern view) in desktop app and edit? Now at the customer's terminal server with MS office it automatically downloads a copy to PC. But in classic view it's ok - desktop app opens a document from a library and can be edited right in SP. The same behavior in Firefox, in the Edge it works fine in a modern view.

Is there any settings or fix for Chrome/Firefox to make possible to edit docs in SP library modern view just like in classic view?

Thank you for reply.

Kind regards.

Go to Site settings -> Site collection features -> Activate Open Documents in Client Applications by Default feature.

Go to Library settings -> Advanced settings -> Set Open documents in the client application.

Then when you click the file in the modern document library, it will ask you to open client application to edit files.

    Hello,

thank you for your reply. The Chrome is now working as desired. But in the Firefox problem still exists. Could there be any other settings depending on a kind of browser or it seems to be some incorrect configuration within the Firefox himself?

    Thank you.

    Kind regards.

    Jonas
