Is there any way 2 fix a #Manufacturing Defect? Just got this #PC 3 days ago. Set it up and it's telling me that #Windows needs to be activated. It's #pre-installed ( W-11 S Mode), but I opened a case with Wind Supp, & they shared my PC & couldn't fix it

Preinstalled Windows 11 Home in S Mode on my new Acer Aspire has an deactivated version of Windows.

I allowed IT specialists with Microsoft Support share my PC via Quick Assist, and they did locate my product key, but it still cannot be re-entered because it's brand new and still in S Mode, so the Microsoft App in the store to remove it out of S Mode cannot do it.

We all tried many ways to try and fix the issue. I didn't do anything with its hardware for Windows to do this. In the end they told me that the Acer company would not even be able to fix the problem because it's a manufacturing defect.

Regardless I would still love to be able to fix this, so I'm posting this in here and hopefully some IT rock star might run across it and realize that there is a way it can be remedied. I wish I didn't have to depend on these nickel & dime Laptops, such as this Acer Aspire 5 A515-46-R3UB | 15.6" Full HD IPS Display | AMD Ryzen 3 3350U Quad-Core Mobile Processor | 4GB DDR4 | 128GB NVMe SSD | WiFi 6 | Backlit KB | FPR | Amazon Alexa | Windows 11 Home in S mode, but HEY! I'm a single parent whose son is at Yale University on a full scholarship, & while I'm very proud of him, it's still my job to support him while he's achieving his education, so now I have TWO households I must pay to keep up.

Okay... Digitally installed version of Windows 11 Home in S Mode is testing me to see if the PC will drive me to have a nervous breakdown because it cannot be ACTIVATED!!! Any takers? No?

Hi. Thank you for your question and reaching out. I’d be more than happy to help you with your query.

If the preinstalled Windows 11 Home on your new Acer Aspire is in Safe Mode and the version is deactivated, it could be caused by a few different issues. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check the product key: Make sure that the product key that was used to activate Windows 11 Home is valid and has not been used on another device.
    2. Check the internet connection: Make sure that your computer is connected to the internet and that the connection is stable. A deactivated version of Windows may be caused by a lack of internet connection during the activation process.
    3. Check the date and time settings: Make sure that the date and time settings on your computer are correct. Windows activation can be affected if the date and time settings are incorrect.
    4. Check for updates: Make sure that your computer has the latest Windows updates installed. Outdated software can cause issues with activation.
    5. Check if it is a hardware change: If you have recently made changes to the hardware of your computer, it may have caused the deactivation of your Windows license.
    6. Check if it is a technical issue: If you believe it to be a technical issue, you should contact Acer support for assistance.
    7. Reinstall windows: As a last resort you can try to reinstall windows. If you are not sure how to do it, you can contact Acer support for assistance.

If you are unable to resolve the issue with the above steps, you may need to contact Microsoft support or Acer support for further assistance. They will be able to help you verify the authenticity of your Windows license and troubleshoot any issues related to activation.
