there were three options
placeSuggestion
addressSugestion
businessSugestion - this one is only listed in Bing maps dev documentation not on web learn.microsoft where v8 web control is described. Business option was added in 2018 so it is nothing new. placeSuggestion stopped delivering any result few days ago.
Funny thing is when you navigate to bing.com/maps and try to search for city it does not work either. It lists just streets or bussines places. Not able to find New york etc… So hopefully this will be fixed soon .

I have created an ADO item for the Bing Maps Web team. In future, you can do this yourself just by doing the repro on Bing.com/maps and pressing the feedback button. That pops up a dialog that you can fill with all of the details and saves directly to Bing Maps Feedback ADO. Triage is done daily and data updates are weekly. Other more complex issues can take up to 3months in my experience but generally most items are fixed within a couple of weeks.

Looks like the documentation says placeSuggestions but the interactive SDK uses businessSuggestions. Either the service changed at some point and made a breaking change (shouldn't have happened) or the documentation is incorrect. I'll send this thread over to the Bing Maps team to investigate. The Engineering team has reviewed the issue and cannot repro the placesSuggestion issues. For the Consumer experience, they recommend clearing cookies and trying again? They are not sure what could be stuck there but if you use the feedback link as I suggested, it should catch the variables within your browser at the time of repro.
Lastly, I have escalated a work item for the doc team to review the businessSuggestion as that does seem to be missing.

i have opened ticket TrackingID#2302220050002509. I have informed your coleagues that this error occurs only when you are connected from Czech republic. When I connect via VPN from Usa, Germany etc everything works fine. When I connect feom Czech rep (multiple providers and devices placeSuggestions are missing)

Consumer scenarios are only supported through the feedback link in the UI. The Support case you mention would have to be a developer question with your API call and response or SDK conditions. I have looked at the status on the case number you provided, and our Technical Lead Support Engineer has ownership. Please focus on providing the API/SDK repro so that we can give exact details to the Engineering team.
I have pointed the Engineering team to this thread but by not using the method I recommended you are making it more difficult for us to help. The consumer experience and developer experience have very different code paths so can't be directly compared.

This all started because our program we used for years that uses this API stopped working few days ago. We have investigated the issue and found out that Api does not return any results. We were able to identify this error is isolated to Czech republic. It has nothing to do with cookies as we tested this on multiple devices and multiple providers. I have shared that screenshot from bing.com/maps just to ilustrate the issue
Excellent! That is the context we needed. I am directly connected to the AutoSuggest folks now and I will give them that context. You are using the v8 web control AutoSuggest in a browser with Czech context. Does this repro in the iSDK for you? Try https://www.bing.com/api/maps/sdkrelease/mapcontrol/isdk/autosuggestui
Note you can choose https://www.bing.com/api/maps/sdkrelease/mapcontrol/isdk/autosuggestbusiness and replace businessSuggestion with placesSuggestion and press the run button to easily repro.
I am not sure if I understand well. But propably context is czech as default when I open the page. But in our app the context or region not sure how this option is called in API is set to en-US as that is the language we use when we search for cities. So I do not think it is related to context but it is likely related to location I connect from
I have already shared screenshot from that page in different support feed but I will add it here as well.
When I set addressSuggestion to false, bussinesSuggestion to false and placeSuggestion to true, I get empty array. (This is the setup it in our app) That was the thing I actually tested that day I reported this issue as I wanted to identify what have happened.
Confirmed! My contact in the Engineering team has completed a consumer repro using https://www.bing.com/maps?setlang=cs&cc=cz and is escalating now. Many thanks for the extra context it was key to getting the right understanding of the issue.
