Not receiving emails after adding a rule.

I started getting junk emails into my inbox so decided to add a rule. I downloaded outlook for iPhone and used a desktop to do this but now I’m not getting hardly any emails (I get lots) and if I do they are going into my junk emails. I deleted the rules but still no emails. Anyone got any ideas. Sounds like I’ve blocked something but I’ve been through everything I can think of.

    Hi @Ali Pea ,

    Welcome to our forum!

I started getting junk emails into my inbox so decided to add a rule.

According to your description, i understand that:

    • All emails get into Junk Email folder and you didn't receive any emails in Inbox folder.
    • You want to create a rule to move emails in Junk Email folder to Inbox folder.

    Right?

If so, let me clarify these two issues:

    For the first:

If your Inbox receives almost no mail and the mail is displayed in Junk Email, as i know, the higher you set the Junk Email Filter protection level, the greater the risk of some legitimate messages being identified as junk and moved to the Junk E-mail folder. Please check if you have set higher protection level and try to change to lower level to see if there're any differences via Home > Delete group > Junk > Junk E-mail Options.

    11

    For the second:

If you want to create a rule to move emails in Junk Email folder to Inbox folder, please note that rules can only be applied to emails received in Inbox.

    Hope the above help!

To fix this issue. Here are some steps you can take:

    1. Check your Junk/Spam folder: Make sure to check your Junk regularly or Spam folder, as sometimes important emails can end up there by mistake. If you find any legitimate emails, mark them as "Not Junk" to ensure they appear in your inbox.
    2. Review and modify your rule: Take a close look at the rule you created and make sure it's not accidentally filtering out or redirecting important emails. If needed, you can edit or delete the rule.
    3. Disable unnecessary rules: If you have multiple rules set up, try disabling or modifying them one by one to see if a specific rule is causing the problem.
    4. Check your blocked senders list: Double-check that you haven't accidentally added any trusted senders to your blocked list. Remove them if necessary.
    5. Verify email forwarding settings: Check if you have any email forwarding or redirection settings in place. Make sure they are properly set up and not causing any emails to be redirected or blocked.
