Remote Desktop Connection from Windows 11 to Windows server 2003 error 0x4

Hi, I can't connect via RDP to a Windows Server 2003 R2 ver. 5.2 R2 (build 3790.srv03_sp2_qfe.150316-2035) using clients Windows 11 22H2 (build 22621.1344), while the connection works fine with clients windows 10 or early.

  • firewall is disabled both sides (client and server);
  • applied this registry key to client windows 11: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ Terminal Services \ Client - created new dword32 ***"***fClientDisableUDP" and set to 1, reboot

I get always "Internal error" error code 0x4, extended error code 0x0.

I hope someone can help me, thank you very much.

Marco

    After deleting Crypto provider software (CryptoPRO in my case) the issue with Err 0x04 has gone. Maybe this solution will be helpful for someone.
