MDS 2017 Row Duplication Issue

I am having an issue with MDS 2017 Excel pluggin where, when publishing data, the rows get duplicated. This happens not just for me but for any other users when using the Excel MDS interface. The duplication appears to be visual in nature and doesn't show up on the backend or on the WebUI. The duplicates disappears if you close Excel, open a new sheet and reconnect to MDS, but then if you publish again they will reappear. This bug has happened on multiple models and specific entities in those models that don't share anything in particular in common. This makes for a very confusing experience for business users and they would prefer to not use the solution at all with this kind of issue. Is there some sort of fix for this?

Graeme Wilson 0 Reputation points2023-06-14T00:45:53.2666667+00:00 Hi Joshua. I've observed the same issue in MDS 2019 Excel add-in. I don't know of a fix. Initially, I was deleting all rows, then refreshing. Removing duplicates after publishing (i.e., after the row duplication) also seems to work fine. I'm wondering if it's an issue with newer versions of Excel, as yours is the only post I could find mentioning this issue. Hopefully, MS will roll out an update to the add-in.

2023-12-12T20:35:09.8266667+00:00 The cause appears to be the Code attribute's Display Width (Pixel) value being blank. I don't know what caused this value to be blank, as it isn't possible to save changes with a missing value.
Fix:
- Edit the attribute.
- If no value is showing, enter a value (e.g., 100).
- Click Save
The value should then display correctly and publishing should work without the row duplication issue. I had to delete all rows in Excel, then refresh for the issue to be completely resolves.
