I am having a serious issue with Autodiscover.

I believe this is related to how Exchange Autodiscover and IIS are working....or rather not working together. We have done all and I mean more than once - all of the standard repairs on the Exchange side right down to complete removal and reinstalling the Autodiscover virtual directory twice!

We keep getting 503 errors when we try to make a new Outlook profile. This 503 error comes when it is attempting to get to Https://autodiscover.mydomaincom/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml.... when we try this in a browser we never get the 600 response it just keeps asking for credentials. Outlook says it cannot make an encrypted connection and fails to setup a new profile.... I spent $500us on Microsoft Tech Support and 4 days later - nothing has been fixed. We cannot setup a new profile or an existing profile with this issue. I am reaching out to all places I can now for a fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi @James Lee ,

    • Please ensure that the user attributes in Active Directory are set correctly via the Get-RemoteMailbox cmdlet. After the correct values are set for the attributes, force directory synchronization to occur, and then try to set up the user's email account in Outlook.
    • Please check if there is an agent active in the background, temporarily turn it off to see if that helps.
    • What are your versions of Outlook and Exchange? Please upgrade to the latest version of Outlook.
