SharePoint Files Accessible from mobile device Outlook App without access to the folders or sharing

Hi Everyone,

I have a business account and I just found out that users can go to search for a person and then click the "files" option and can view all their files. Regardless of access controls on the sharepoint site or folder.

How do I disable this since this is a potential security and confidentiality issue.

To disable this potential security and confidentiality issue, you can follow the steps below:

1. If you have SharePoint Online, go to the SharePoint Admin Center and sign in.
2. From the left pane, select Policies.
3. Under the Policies section, choose Access Control.
4. Scroll down to the "Unmanaged Devices" section and click Edit.
5. Choose "Block access" for "Access from apps that don’t use modern authentication (e.g. Mail and Calendar apps)".
6. Click "Save".

This will restrict users from accessing SharePoint files through the mobile device Outlook app without proper permissions.

In order to completely avoid such things from happening, avoid using "Anyone links" when you share sharepoint documents. To use the "Specific people links" feature or "People in your organization links" .
