Hello there,
Have you made any recent updates that you are aware of on this device? If so try uninstalling them and check if this sorts out the issue
Sometimes, the local hard disk D missing is caused by a damaged cable or faulty port, just reconnect the D drive with another cable or port, and check it. Of course, you could take out the local disk D and put it into a hard drive enclosure with a USB port, then check if the problem is solved.
Rescanning the targeted disk can help you to resolve the error i.e. d drive suddenly missing. Here are the steps to follow:
Step 1: In the Windows search box on your Windows 11/10, type Disk Management and open the same.
Step 2: Choose the Actions option from the menu bar in the Disk Management window.
Step 3: Finally, from the list, select Rescan Disks which will re-identify all the connected drives/devices with the system.
Hope this resolves your Query !!
