Select a specific upgrade version for Visual Studio 22 Community

Hi

I'm a student, and I'm using the version 17.4.3 of Visual Studio 22 Community Edition for my Final Graduation Project .

I upgraded it to the latest version 17.6.3 because I wanted to install Github Copilot Extension. Since I cannot specify the version to upgrade it, because the minimum is 17.4.4 for the Copilot. After I updated it, whenever I tryed to run it, my Web app (ASP.NET Core Web App (Model-View-Controller)) using docker compose, build successfully but it didn't launch and whenever I tryed to access the link directly it gave an SSL error everytime no matter how many fixes I tried.

It almost ruined my entire work if I wasn't able to the rollback.

Fortunatly I was able to do a Rollback to the 17.4.3.

So I would like to ask if you could make it able for the users of the Community Edition to choose a specific version or create an edition for students, so that this doesn't happen to others.

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

Currently, we only provide the links to earlier versions of Visual Studio Enterprise and Professional, not Community edition.

For Community edition, it is recommended to install the latest version.

I realize that, but I was lucky that the project worked after the rollback, because I updated the VS 22 to meet the minimum requirements of installation for github copilot extension, if I'd done clean install instead of just updating it, all the work I put into the project during the semester would have been for nothing and I would have no other option but give up on the curricular unit. I would like to ask that an exception for the students be made at least, to be able to select the version since it can have serious consequences for us and no one is gonna check for this situation before updating it nor can predict with certainty.
