Is Windows Storage Migration from DC to DC going to cause any issues?

I have a Windows server 2008 that I'm using as my DC/DNS/DHCP and File server. I will be installing a second server with Windows Server 2019. I plan on decommissioning the 2008 server after migrating all of the services above.

I'm interested in Windows Storage Migration service to migrate the file shares to the new server. I have never used this tool before.

My initial plan is to add the DC/DNS and transfer FSMO roles to new server. Move DHCP to new server and migrate file shares with Windows Migration Service.

Will Windows Migration Service play nicely with migrating file shares from DC to DC?

Windows Small Business Server and Windows Server Essentials are domain controllers. Storage Migration Service can't yet cut over from domain controllers, but it can inventory and transfer files from them.

Also mixing roles like that really isn't recommended. A better option may be to install the hyper-v role (as only role) on host, then stand up two virtual machines. One for active directory domain services and other one as file server.
