Permission denied when accessing a shared folder on a workgroup computer

Question

I have a network of 6 laptops running Windows 10 Home, connected using workgroup. Each laptop has a shared folder with full access for everyone. All computers can ping each other, view each other on the network, and access each other's shared folders, except for one specific laptop that can't access another specific laptop. When attempting to access the shared folder on that laptop, it results in a "permission denied" error, unless logged in with the same user name on both laptops.

Other laptops on the network do not have this issue and can access shared folders using different user accounts. Can anyone explain why we need to use the same user on both laptops and suggest a solution to access shared folders using different user accounts? Thank you.

Hi anth，

Open the propertites of the share folder, check the share permissions in Advanced Sharing in the Sharing tab and the NTFS permissions in the Security tab. Make sure the everyone group has the Full Control permission and no user is denied in both of them.
