We are using Office 2012 and SharePoint. When you try to access a document in Excel or Word that is stored in SharePoint, you get a message about the trust center and are not able to open the document. Is there any way to fix this via GPO?

    Hi @N Kerr,

To fix the issue where documents stored in SharePoint cannot be opened in Excel or Word due to trust center warnings, you can configure Group Policy Objects (GPO) to trust SharePoint sites. The following steps can help you accomplish this:

    1. Open the Group Policy Management Console.
    2. Create a new GPO or select an existing one.
    3. Navigate to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Microsoft Office > Common > Trust Center.
    4. Click on "Trusted Locations".
    5. Click "Enable".
    6. Enter the path to the SharePoint site(s) in the "Path" field. For example, if the SharePoint site is "https://company.sharepoint.com/sites/team", then you would enter "https://company.sharepoint.com" as the path.
    7. Check the box next to "Subfolders of this location are also trusted".
    8. Click "OK" to save the changes.
    9. In the GPO Management Console, link the GPO to the desired organizational units.

After completing these steps, the settings should be applied to all users in the affected organizational units, and they should be able to access Excel and Word documents stored in SharePoint without receiving trust center warnings.

Note that this solution assumes that the issue is related to trust center warnings and not other potential issues such as problems with the SharePoint Web Client service or outdated versions of Office.
