my asp.net does not access renewed database

My programs access a database to build datagrids. If a new database is uploaded to the server, the datagrids continue to utilize the old database. This continues for some time even if the users log out and back into the app.

2023-07-11T18:19:51.0166667+00:00 The database is a MS Access database that is copied over the existing one. I wouldn't think the connection string would need to be updated as the database name and location are the same. Only the data is different.

2023-07-11T19:08:32.49+00:00 There are a number of users of the web application; so, I can't answer that question. I can say that closing one connection to the web application and then reopening it does not allow access to the copied database.
Eventually, the new database is used. I do not understand whether there is a cache that stays active for a certain amount of time.

ASP.NET Web Forms has built-in state management (ViewState) which maintains the state of data bound control state between post backs.
I can't speak on any caching or state management the application might use outside normal ASP.NET Web Forms ViewState.
I recommend stopping the web server application in IIS before overwriting the MS Access database.
