How to download a zip file on Share Point containing over 10,000 files.

Question

How do you download zip files that i get sent on Share Point that contain over 10,000 files without many of them failing to download?

I have been experiencing this issue multiple times over the last couple of years. Every single time someone sends me a zip folder on Share Point containing more than 10,000 files i have this same exact issue. So there is something wrong i am doing or there must be some kind of download limit but i am not sure.

If any zip file contains less than 10,000 files then it will download the zip file properly and all of the files will be downloaded without issue.

However if any zip file contains more than 10,000 files it will only download 10,000 files and the remainder will fail to download. The zip file will contain the 10,000 files and then an extra document called "___All_Errors.txt" that lists all of the files that fail to download. So for example if i received a zip file containing 12,345 files then only 10,000 will download and 2,345 will fail to download. Also on the Share Point page it will say "This is a partial preview of the contents in this zip file. To view all files, download the entire zip file." but yet when you download the entire zip file you get hundreds and thousands that fail to download if there are more than 10,000 files.

Does anyone know how to solve this issue so that i can download entire zip files containing over 10,000 files and get all of the zip files to actually download?

Per my research, currently there is no such method to completely download a zip file contains over 10,000 files. As a workaround, I will recommend you to use OneDrive sync app. You can sync this document library to your computer. Then you will get all files to your computer.
