Why does MS keep doing this type of thing? Every time I turn around there is some functionality that I totally rely on that is just gone one day. This is the third time I've lost an efficiency within Outlook, and these changes seem extremely arbitrary. Shouldn't updates enhance functionality rather than reduce? Regarding the workaround suggestions above, how is creating ANOTHER appointment on the calendar or keeping notes in a secondary location efficient? It's not. I am frustrated because we use the calendar as the "point of truth" so to speak. I attach emails and documents to the calendar entry because then all the information is in one place. Please bring this back as well as the ability to have the location autofill and "save without update" to function in tandem. Currently, you can only have one or the other.
Unable to attached outlook item or document to calendar invite
I am no longer able to attach an Outlook item or document, or paste any text, in a Calendar invite sent by someone else. The File - Save Attachment option is not available, the attachment shortcut in 'greyed out' and no keyboard 'Ctrl +V' shortcut works (these options are all still available for any calendar entries I have created myself).
i.e. In the past, I have attached emails / meeting packs or pasted texts/links relevant to that calendar invite so that during the meeting they are all in one place and I do not have to re-search for them again in my emails or refer to various locations.

2023-09-04T03:34:08.56+00:00 Hi
We are also having the same issue, Our executive assistants used to use this feature a lot, specifically to add attachments to appontments that are not neccesarily for all attendees to view, so having them added just to their instance of the meeting was very useful.
A shame this feature is now gone.

2023-09-06T15:23:04.03+00:00 Microsoft - do you ever consider PA's and EA's when reducing functionality? It seems not and with every update we seem to lose something useful or, conversely, get an "enhancement" that we don't need like adding Teams details to every outlook meeting automatically which is so annoying when people do still like to meet face to face!

2023-09-20T14:37:44.6633333+00:00 I work in a council office IT department and our secretaries do the same thing with the leadership teams calendars. We have committee meetings where the agenda packs are prepared a few days before the meeting is due, but the calendar entry is created months in advance, this is just one example of many meetings where this feature is required. Our Councillors will likely do the same thing so all notes and agenda packs are in one location.
Why would such a simple but vital feature be removed? It can't possibly be any more a security risk than attaching a document at the time the meeting is created.
Has anybody found a workaround that allows attachments to be added to the calendar entry after the meeting is created?
